LOMCB Scholarship Winner 2020
Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band (LOMCB) is proud to announce the 2020 LOMCB Scholarship winner. The 2020 recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Riley Brooks
Lake Oswego High School (LOHS)
Riley plays trombone. She plans to major in biology at Oregon State University (OSU) and hopes to be in the OSU marching band this coming year.
The LOMCB scholarship recipient(s) are typically presented to their school during Seniors Honors Assembly and to the LOMCB audience at our spring concert. Unfortunately, neither of these events was able to be held because of the COVID-19 situation.
In lieu of the LOHS Seniors Honors Assembly, LOHS created a video to showcase all the students who received honors and scholarships. You can view the video at https://youtu.be/YDdbD4r-n_g. The video provides a slide of each student recipient. You can view the slide for Riley Brooks at the 15 minute mark. However, the entire video is well worth watching.
About the Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band (LOMB) Scholarship:
The student must have been a positive, contributing member of their high school band program and excelled not only in musical performance but in ways that demonstrated the necessary commitment needed for their total high school band program to achieve the highest standard possible.
The student must intend to continue to participate in a band in college.
Recipients of this award will be encouraged to perform with the Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band for their July 3 concert at Millennium Plaza Park the year of their high school graduation and in future years as well.
Unfortunately, LOMCB’s July 3, 2020 concert has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If Riley’s schedule allows, LOMCB hopes to have her perform with the band next year at the July 3, 2021 concert.
