Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band

The Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band (LOMCB) invites you to join us for some great music on Sunday afternoon, March 9, at 3:00 pm, at Lakeridge High School Auditorium. As usual, there is no admission charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. Doors open at 2:00 pm giving you time before the concert to listen to pre-concert music from the Millennium Brass and visit the artists in the lobby.

Celebrate the Coming of Spring!
As we look forward to the coming of spring, we hope you will join us for an eclectic program of celebration overtures, American dances, music reflecting different liquor producing regions, circus music and more. The music of both classic and contemporary composers provides something for every musical palate.
Based on a folk tune of English and Irish origin, Dreams and Proclamations by Roland Barrett may inspire you to nourish your own dreams while Alfred Reed’s Alleluia! Laudamus Te provides pomp and celebration. Brian Balmages composed a thrilling, cinematic work called Rapture that we hope you will enjoy – contrasted by the mood of a Saturday night barn dance in Suite of Old American Dances, by Robert Russell Bennett.
Did you know that John Philip Sousa composed more than marches? He composed the suite People Who Live in Glass Houses in 1909 shortly before his first world tour with the Sousa Band. He gives a humorous tip of his hat to the countries of origin for some select beverages with each movement.
We hope you will join us for this concert and bring your friends. The concert starts at 3:00 pm, but the doors open at 2:00 pm. Come early to listen to pre-concert music in the lobby from the Millennium Brass and visit the artists in the lobby.
